Reading Aloud
Workshops Throughout Minnesota
In addition,
the Humanities Center is willing to contract with sponsoring organizations
to conduct Reading Aloud workshops for their staff/volunteers anywhere
in the state of Minnesota. These workshops can be individually designed
based on any unique characteristics of the intended training audience
and the children served by the sponsoring organization. The basic
fee of $300 covers all training costs, including handouts, for up
to 20 participants. The workshop can also be conducted for groups
larger than 20 - but because of the larger size it becomes more
of a presentation than an interactive workshop. For groups larger
than 20, the cost is $15 per person.
The Humanities Center can also provide children's picture books
and copies of the The Read-Aloud Handbook by Jim Trelease
to training participants - but the sponsoring organization must
be responsible for the total cost of books ordered.
